Denise cannot bring herself to ask her parents for help, as she is tired of being bailed out. Denise and Jaleesa face eviction unless they can come up with 200 dollars by the next day. To make matters worse, she had also covered Jaleesa's fees to repay her for an earlier favor. Denise learns that the check for her dorm fees has bounced. Jaleesa and Denise get a new roommate, talkative transfer student Maggie Lauten. John Markus, Carmen Finestra and Matt Williams Notes: This episode was taped after the second (and official) pilot episode to add additional characters and provide background for those in the pilot episode. Meanwhile, overeager freshman Dwayne Wayne hits on every woman in sight. Denise apologizes to Jaleesa and asks for another chance, and Jaleesa agrees to stop being so defensive. Whitley drives Denise insane with her idiosyncrasies and generally self-absorbed behavior. They get into an argument, and Denise moves in with wealthy Whitley Gilbert (for whose family the dormitory is named). Denise decides to try harder to get along with Jaleesa, but Jaleesa is offended that Denise has gone behind her back. Denise feels uneasy around Jaleesa and asks Stevie Rallen, the resident director, to find her a new room. She meets her roommate, Jaleesa Vinson, a 26-year-old divorcée who is subject of much rumor and innuendo. I had to get my feet wet again with this one so thanks for sticking in there with me.Episodes Season 1 (1987–88) No.ĭenise Huxtable begins her sophomore year at Hillman and moves in into Gilbert Hall. You like it and can bop your head to it, but it’s not YOUR song. This blog is like the song “So Good” from Destiny’s Child “Writing’s On The Wall” album. What are some Nashville area hotels I need to hit during my getaways? There’s so much more I want to say to yall, but I can’t blog about things I’m still tackling. *Adds this to my prep therapy email for my Wednesday session.* I send my therapist an email a day or two before a session to lay out what I’d like to discuss/unpack. I’m not sure what that dive will look like, but I know it will present itself to me. It was simply time I needed to recharge.Īlthough January was a month for me to “just be”, March is the month I want to dive deeper while on my getaway. I took the time to get my Whitley Gilbert on and was able to relax, relate, release. I didn’t do those things, and I didn’t give a d***. I had expectations to do certain things while I was there. If you’ve read some of my blogs, then you know expectations are really big to me. I have a friend named Ashley that is the ultimate hype woman! I’ve never seen anyone do it better. I text a few friends and they hyped me up. A few weeks ago, Ant packed a covid friendly care package, I packed a small suitcase and drove 20 minutes to a hotel. It started as we should take turns each month staying at a hotel, and morphed into “if there’s something you need to do you have a whole day to do it”. We’ve decided that each month one of us gets a day to themselves. Idea number two is what I’m going to talk to yall about today. I can’t believe it took me 15 months to think of something so simple yet impactful. Last weekend I was able to sleep in on Sunday. On the weekends we take turns on sleeping in. Idea number one is something simple, yet helps us to relax, relate, release. So, while driving back from MN I came up with three ideas that would add the color back to our lives. At first, it was a joke, but the more I thought about it, that’s how we were living life. When someone would ask how we’re doing, I’d say, “the girls are alive and we’re still married. One day I might write about it, but now I feel still too close to it. We were (still are) working from home with two babies while trying to navigate life during a pandemic. I thought about how 2020 felt pretty flat. On the drive back to TN, I had plenty of time to think. Alright boom, check it.įor Christmas, we drove to MN to spend the holiday with family. ALL LIES! Nothing has changed around here, you know I start thangs off with a story. How’s it going? It’s been a lot of life lived since the last time we talked. *Taps Mic* Is this thing on? Is anyone out there? Aye DJ turn my headphones up.
